Andreu M. Climent (@amcliment) is Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Universitat Politácnica de Valencia and President of the Association Science in the Parliament. Doctor of electronic engineering, after several stays in Germany and the USA, in 2012 he joined the Gregorio Marañón Hospital where he focused his research focused on the evaluation of new therapies for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, from cardiac regenerative medicine to technological innovations for improvement in ablation treatments. As a result of this research, since 2019 he is co-founder of Corify Care, a Spin-off of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
Dr. Climent is co-author of more than 40 scientific articles in JCR journals, has participated in 20 national and international competitive research projects, has directed 3 doctoral theses. He was granted with Ramón y Cajal assistance position, the most competitive position from the Spanish State Investigation Agency. Passionate about scientific dissemination and the potential that science has to improve the quality of life of society, Andreu is one of the drivers of the independent Association Science in the Parliament which aims to make science and scientific knowledge increasingly important in the formulation of political proposals. Thanks to the work of the Association Science in the Parliament, the Spanish Parliament has established in 2021 the Office for Science and Technology Advise.
